  • First TallisLab lesson

    It’s my first one today and I’m so looking forward!!! Hearing and reading all the positive comments can really motivate you and I can’t wait what will my lot come up with…

  • today is moby!!!

    This CD lives in my car - great for lifting you up or just keeping you on the high (that’s me now! :-) highly recommended… Song’s called ‘Run On (for a long time)’ - one of many great ones from this album. I was given his CD a few years ago by my kayaking friend and as with everything else I’ve got my ups and downs with it - I’m either addicted to it or can’t face it. I know the lyrics although with this one it took me a while to work out what he’s actually singing (and I got lots of things wrong!!! but that’s a learning curve) //btw have I mentioned that I started learning English by stubbornly fighting against odds with texts I could not understand - U2 and Alanis Morissette- what a combination!// but I had no idea what the title was so I had to search on the internet through a set of lyrics to be able to find this clip on YouTube. Sorry, I couldn’t trace an original one by Moby decent enough to link it with but this one seems quite O.K.

  • forgetting knowledge

    Scary how true this is, even more scary that it was said in 1972. What year are we in now - 2009?
    Looking back - what have I learnt that I still remember and what have I forgotten? Gosh, I remember so little!

  • painting colours…

    Back in school! Gosh, you will think I’m crazy or a workaholic but if I was given canvas today to play with it would be covered in bright yellow with odd splashes of red.
    Today is YELLOW and RED!!!
    I’m mad but I love the buzz the school gives me - is it THIS school? Yes, definitely! It just feeds me with so much energy - I truly must be mad ;-)

  • Back to school!

    OK, so this is it - back in school tomorrow.
    I’m so not ready but trying not to panic. There is so much to be done but to be fair I think I’ve managed to put quite a bit together during this break although there is never enough time - frustrating!
    Time to get some rest now…

    So, I’ve spent a couple of hours driving Simon mad trying to solve the problem of not being able to add comments to my blog, actually adding a visible link to it so whoever is willing to comment can easily find this silly link highlighted in red!
    Simon wasn’t very cooperative today and communication with him wasn’t the easiest ever so it took us a while to figure out where the problem was…
    Silly as it sounds but on my screen we couldn’t see the second code on the Disqus site - code that you must paste in order to make the link visible.
    Well, 2 hours of fiddling around, changing themes and blaming them or other things and the solution was just under our nose - JUST SCROLL DOWN!

    Lesson from today - problem (however big or small) the solution to it is usually somewhere close it’s just the matter of being able to notice it
